What students learned regarding use of on-screen text in videos
- "It was difficult to read a lot of the text on most videos because the color of the text blended in with the pictures in the background and sometimes the text went by way too fast to read and absorb information."
- "Too much text is an awful idea and needs to be summarized."
- "The text should not be so long and it shouldn't go by too fast to where we can't read it."
- "Make the text a color that is easy to read against the backgrounds used."
- "My advice is to make the fonts large enough for everyone to see."
- "When using voice overs, have some of what's being said on the screen so viewers have something to keep them engaged."
- "It would also be more interesting if there was less on-screen text. Sometimes there were giant paragraphs that were hard to read. I think maybe it would be better if groups tried to incorporate many different ways of presenting information into their video, so it would be easier to follow. For example, instead of just using on-screen text they could use voice-overs, images, and videos."
Advice regarding minimizing formatting errors, typos, misspellings, etc.
- "Use spell check or Grammarly."
- "Put words in a Google Doc to see if they are misspelled."
- "Ask a teacher for advice if they are having formatting issues.
- "Create a rough draft of slides on paper to make sure each slide flows to the next."
- "Watch your video at least 3 times over to catch errors before sending it in."
- "Watch your video when it's published that way you know what the final product looks like."
- "Have someone who hasn't seen the video review it with fresh eyes, so it'll be easier to notice errors."
- "Have multiple people watch it before you turn it in."
- "Ask other people for help or ask an adult such as a teachers and parents."
- "Take your time and don't rush and plan accordingly."
What the teacher and/or librarian should do differently when working on a similar project in the future
- "They can both make sure to hype kids up for projects and things like that. Make it fun. Hype them up. Get them excited."

- "I liked the liberty on how you could edit your project."
- "The patience and tedious work. I felt like I learned a lot and it made the video making stress half itself."
